For the first time
Today ten years' ago(Sept.11,2001)
Terrorists used passenger aircraft
As missiles
In sudden simultaneous attacks
On USA's highest important targets.


They hijacked,commandeered and crashed
Four commercial aeroplanes
Into iconic twin World Trade Centre
North(American Airlines Flight 11 hijacked
By five-man team)
And South(United Airlines Flight 175 taken 
Over by five hijackers)
Towers in New York City,
Top security Pentagon complex(American Airlines Flight 77 commandeered
By five-man hijack squad) in Washington,DC
And a field near Shanksville,Pittsburgh,Pennsylvania
(United Airlines Flight 93 boarded and Hijacked by four terrorists)
Killing at least 2,976 people.


Flight 93 was believed to be headed
For the Capitol or White House
When courageous passengers
Stormed the cockpit.


I witnessed the CNN Live
Broadcast of unforgettable images
Of the planes smashing into the WTC
Two towers burning and collapsing
In unfolding event 
Horrifying "USA At War"
Live updates on giant screens
At A & W Restaurant
Over business dinner with friends
In Petaling Jaya new town,Malaysia
Miles and miles around the globe
As it happened
That day.


Over the ten years
Of USA's "War On Terror"
From the manhunt
For the World's Most Wanted Man
Osama bin Laden
To his death on May 2,2011
When US elite Navy Seals
Stormed Osama's hideout
In a mansion in Abbotabad,Pakistan
I have recorded
The folly and sorry story
Of misguided religious fervour
That turns people into terrorists.


The world will be
A greater better brighter
Place for all to live share care
For Truth,Justice and Freedom
When wars and crimes
Against humanity
By evil leaders like Osama,
Hitler,Idi Amin and others
Who mislead and misuse
Power,privilege and position
Can be spotted and prevented
Early from making history
With ill-conceived ill-advised ideas.


Political,social and economic ills
Do not happen overnight.


Personal ill-will ~
Ill-tempered ill-starred people
Do not show anger hatred fury
Or resort to use violence 
Without cause and effect.


Something terrible
Can suddenly occur
Causing damaging loss and suffering
After deep-rooted built-up of forces.


One can make in-depth study
To discover the real reasons ~
The root causes of tragedies ~
And make intelligent deductions
From rigorous acute analysis
Based on facts.


As ex-ace crime reporter
I believe the top priority
Must be given
To global trans-border crime prevention
To nip serious crimes/ills in the bud
Via early detection,prevention and resolution.


This calls for governments
To work closely together
To keep abreast with globalization
And rapid convergence
